Britannia Row Upgrades Sensors

posted 8 Feb 2016, 03:10 by Ben Phillips   [ updated 16 Feb 2016, 06:29 ]

Brit Row Sensor Uprgrade
World class audio provider, Britannia Row Productions has recently completed upgrading their entire stock of 30 RECLINE Remote Inclinometer Sensor Units.

Adam Williams, speaker department HOD ordered the sensor upgrade kits from us for all of their inclinometer stock.

This upgrade brings with it increased accuracy, improved battery efficiency, faster calibration and improved weather proofing.

The upgrade is a very straight forward process involving removing some internal components and swapping them our for new and improved components. No specialised skills or tools are required - most service technicians can easily carry out this work, or we can do it for you!

Here at KSG, we are always thinking of our loyal customers, and rather than our clients having to reinvest in new sensors, we developed this upgrade kit for existing customers to enable them to keep costs down yet still have the latest and greatest pieces of kit.

If you are interested in upgrading your existing sensors, get in touch with us and we will help you out.

Another New Year

T in the Park, Forth Road Crossing, MTV, SPOTY, The Cure and more...

Time for round up of the last few months and perhaps a bit father back.  2015 has gotten off to a busy start, after a nice break over the festive period, KSG and KSG Acoustics both jumped straight into the new year.

KSG Acoustics has had some really interesting projects this year.  We were appointed as the Noise Consultant for Scotland's massive festival T In The Park 2015 (TITP), for its relocation to Strathallan Castle.  This is a really exiting project for us which we have really enjoyed being part of.  Along with that we have also been appointed as the Noise Clerk of Works (ECoW) for the Forth Replacement Crossing.  The new Forth Road bridge, due to be completed in 2016, will span the Firth of Forth.  We have also been involved in a new mixed use development in Banchory so as you can see its been a busy few months.  The best dressed man in Rock and Roll!

The RECLINE Remote Inclinometer System (for all your line array laser needs) has been flying off the shelves with great regularity and new inclinometer sensors and display are being developed and are on the way.  More on this closer to the time! KSG has also been involved in some high profile shows towards the end of last year.  The MTV Music Awards 2014 was held here in Glasgow, as well as the Sports Personality Of The Year 2014 (SPOTY), both in the SSE Hydro.  The hardest working and best dressed man in rock and roll was in attendance - Pete McGlynn (pictured right) leading from the front, displaying suitable amounts of swagger.  Good show old man.

KSG Recording has continued its investment in new equipment to add to the hire stock.  SSL, Avid, Apple and more were added to the inventory.  As well as local recording work here in Glasgow, KSG Recording continued to record The Cure's live concerts, most recently the sold out performances just before Christmas in London's Eventim Apollo.

If you have any Acoustic or Noise consultancy, EIA and planning requirementsRecording or Inclinometers for your speakers, drop us a line here at KSG.

Urban Audio Splash Screen
From the busy streets of Glasgow to the quiet lanes of Pinley Green,  the RECLINE Remote Inclinometer System has made its way to Urban Audio.

Legendary engineer Dan Lewis got in touch with us and ordered Urban Audio's first RECLINE kit.  Dan (FOH engineer for the likes of Noel Gallagher, Wet Wet Wet and Beady Eye) along with Warren Fisher run Urban Audio.  They decided on our inclinometer / laser system to complement their spanking new L'Acoustics KARA system.

The RECLINE Sensor Unit mounts perfectly on top of the KARA Bumper and is held securely in place with the integrated magnetic attachment system.

If you would like to find out more or to perhaps try out one of our demo systems, drop us a line or click here.

Big thanks to Urban Audio!!  Check them out here

And the winner is....
Please no more entries, we have a winner.  Ladies and Gentleman, please welcome to the stage, Mike Lord! Mike lord everybody!

Recently we held a small competition to see if anyone was paying attention to our news articles and sure enough quite a few of you were.  Many of you not only took the time to read our post but also to click on the link the link to enter our competition.  We were looking for the name of a well known Scottish art installation near Falkirk featuring two giant horse heads.  The answer was The Kelpies.  Mike was the first to get back to us with the correct answer.  We'll have a bottle of Scotland's finest on his way to him shortly.  Good stuff Mike.  Not bad for a keyboard tech.

Thank you all for joining in for a bit of fun.  I'm sure we'll do something similar in the near future again!

A very belated news post...

Well it certainly has been a busy few months here at KSG.  We have been getting stuck into all sorts of events, shows and environmental projects.  KSG 2014 Logo

KSG and KSG Acoustics were both involved in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.  KSG Acoustics' director, Lindsay McIntyre, had this to say...

"KSG Acoustics was commissioned to solve some pretty challenging plant noise issues this summer at Glasgow's Commonwealth Games Athlete's Village. The catering demands of the athletes and their support teams were met with kitchen facilities of an awe-inspiring scale, with each Country represented provided with its own food preparation areas under a single roof. A raft of industrial extraction fans, diesel generators, chillers and other fixed plant was required to keep the operation running 24 hours a day, as well as round the clock access for staff and deliveries – and all this within touching distance of the closest athletes' accommodation. To compound matters, the Scottish rains stayed away and temperatures soared, leaving cooling systems working extra hard and athletes opening bedroom windows for additional ventilation. To reduce plant noise levels to provide good sleeping and resting conditions for athletes, KSG Acoustics specified bespoke kitchen fan attenuators, banks of acoustic louvres around diesel generators and a close boarded fence lined with sound absorbent material around the perimeter of the plant area. The result was a significant reduction in plant noise levels to within recommended levels, leaving the athletes well rested and ready for competition."

Meanwhile on the other side of the business was busy during the build of the Glasgow 2014 opening and closing ceremonies. On top of all that there have been quite a few shows with The Cure where Ben Phillips jumped into the hot seat as the monitor engineer.  We also provided one of Pro Tools HD recording rigs to the band.  The Riot Festival saw many a happy punter as The Cure played three quality shows to some massive Canadian and American audiences.

Recently their have been several outings to the BBC Teens Awards and the MOBO Awards 2014.  Tonight sees action at the Glasgow MTV European Music Awards (more to follow on the MTV EMA).  Our RECLINE Remote Inclinometers have been at all three shows helping the system technicians to align their line arrays.  Props to Britannia Row for their continued support.  Chur!

As a bonus, to see if anyone is paying attention, the first person (over 18) that can name the sculpture in the picture below, wins a bottle of Scotland's finest. Drop us a line, click here

More Displays for VER

posted 15 Jul 2014, 15:00 by Ben Phillips   [ updated 15 Jul 2014, 15:03 ]

RECLINE Dual Input Inclinometer Display for VER Line Arrays
Video Equipment Rentals, VER have recently purchased some more of the RECLINE Remote Inclinometer Display Units.  Doug McKinley of VER contacted us again to order some more Dual Input Display Units to go with their previous order of Sensor Units.  Doug took 8 display units fitted with RJ45 connectors and also some more of our protective cases with custom foam inserts.

The Dual Input Display Unit lets you, the user connect two Sensor Units at once.  Two angles are then displayed clearly on the bright TFT screen.  There are two laser switches for maximum control of the lasers that are built into the Sensor Unit.  We can even load your company logo into the screen so that it can be displayed once the power has been turned on.  A really effective way to advertise your business and identify the kit as yours!

Our protective cases are a great way to look after you investment.  The custom foam inserts help cushion the system from any bumps or knocks that might be encountered out on the road.

Thanks Doug and thanks VER for your continued support!
